Marriage of Naveen Basappa & Sneha Kapadia
    http://snehaandnaveen.wedquarters.com

Naveen Shanker Basappa, son of Mr. Sharana and Mrs. Ratna Basappa was born in Edmonton, Alberta and attended University of Alberta medical school. He has met his soul mate Sneha Kapadia in Toronto, and finally the wedding was set for June 09, 2007 in Regina, Saskatchewan. It was well organized and very well attended by ACA members. In summary the attendance to wedding from Edmonton was close to 100 people, most of them being from ACA. Basappa family greatly appreciates their presence and blessings.

The wedding in Regina was colorful, typical Gujarati style, and had 3 parts to it. Friday evening was GARBA dance and dinner, next morning was the traditional Vedic wedding followed by lunch, and evening the Reception with usual speeches, dinner and dance.

Our ACA members were the stars of the evening dance, particularly the teenagers. They had a Ball

Basappa family also hosted another reception locally here in Edmonton on June 16, 2007 at Westin Hotel, and the high light of the evening was dinner dance and most importantly the decorations. Reception decorations were managed by Mrs. Ratna Basappa, and each center piece was unique and they were imported from India. Once again the Reception in Edmonton was colorful with excellent south Indian style food and fabulous Decor.

In summary, Basappa family is thankful to ACA members for sharing their time and support during this joyous event.

Reception of Jagannath Pariti and Srivalli Indrani

A reception was held to celebrate the September 2006 wedding of Jagannath and Indrani on July 29, 2007 at the Meridian Banquet Hall. Indrani arrived recently from US to join Jagannath in Edmonton. Their wedding was held in West Virginia, USA last September where Indrani’s aunt resides.

Many light hearted speeches, and songs were performed at this delightful luncheon reception. Although the reception was organized within a short time-frame there were friends and family who arrived even from out of town to attend the event. Indrani’s brother from Chicago, Jagannath’s sister Susheela from Fremont, California, Jagannath’s cousins from Calgary, and our former Edmonton ACA members from Fort McMurray, Balu, Gomathi and family are some of those out of station attendees.

The family wishes to thank all for making this event a memorable one.

Mrs. Suseela Subbarao's 80th Birth day

Members of the Andhra community organized a surprise 80th Birthday Celebration for Smt. Susheela Subbarao. At that event a few people spoke about her contribution to the Andhra Community of how she has been able to preserve and teach our culture to our children and our newcomers. She not only contributed to the Andhra Community but also to the community at large by getting involved in music, cultural and religious committees as well as supporting the events. Mrs. Susheela Subbarao was a founding member of the ACA.

Children and Grand Children celebrated Dr. Puttagunta Venugopal Rao and Kristna Kumari's 50th wedding anniversary in Edmonton. This was a private function.
